My mom was diagnosed with Bulbar ALS in May of 2019. ALS has taken so much from my family: the ability to hear my mom's voice, to share a meal together, take a walk. Its created a lot of tears and despair. It's also given us many blessings: loving each other more fiercely, appreciating time so much more and seeing how friends and loved one rise up in support. It's created new friendships and meaningful connections.  ALS TDI's last director, Terri Handler introduced me to a young woman named Molly, who lost her mother (Cookie) to ALS. We immediately felt a kinship and connection for several reasons. Molly encouraged me to get involved with this years Trek, so I joined team Cookie and am riding for both our mothers.
