In May 2019, my mom was diagnosed with Bulbar ALS.

ALS has taken so much from my family—most painfully, my mother’s life. And yet, in the midst of that heartbreak, it also gave us unexpected gifts: a deeper capacity to love, a heightened appreciation for time, and a profound sense of community as friends and loved ones rallied around us.

We carry gratitude for those blessings—but I’d give anything to have my mom back.
