In May 2020 our world became darker and would never be as bright again - we lost our dad to ALS after a 10 month battle to the very end. 

My dad was not "just my dad". We were co-workers, musicians who shared a stage together, we played hockey together and rode motorcycles together; he was my mentor and advisor. I still had so much to learn from him and ALS robbed us of that. To watch him decline and lose the ability to speak and tell his family he loved them, the ability to use his arms and hug us, and the use of all limbs as he lay motionless is something no one should have to go through. We made a promise to our dad to help others with ALS and raise money for ALS TDI so someday there would be a cure and no one else would have to suffer as he did. 

I am joining my family at the Trek this year and will be volunteering with my family at Rest Stop 2 (sorry no cycling for me this year)
