My fearless brother, Ernie died from ALS September 25, 2017. ALS is an appalling disease that still has no cure! All my life Ernie has taught me so many things most importantly how to live life with courage, acceptance and adventure. This year, I am so excited to participate in the ALS-TDI My-State-Trek! For the past 5 years I have been supporting Team Ernie by cheering on and ringing cow bells for all those riding bicycles to help find a cure for ALS. Because of the Pandemic there will not be a 3-day trek as we know it. There will still be many individuals and teams raising money and riding in memory/honor of loved ones virtually, but there is also a New DYI Participation option to open the event to even more community members, like myself that don’t ride. Thinking outside the box………….I’ve decided My-State Trek will be My-Bake-Trek!

I will be baking 50 dozen sweet treats (600 cookies) in memory of my brother (Ernie will always be my favorite cookie monster). All the cookies I bake will be donated to essential workers that are putting themselves at risk during this pandemic. I will bake and pass along the treats for others to enjoy, in memory of my kind, loving, inspiring brother who no longer can. Please consider supporting my efforts to raise funds to help the researchers at ALS TDI find a cure to this heartbreaking disease.
