June 21st and 22nd, I will be participating in a weekend charity cycling event called the Tri-State Trek. This event raises money to find a cure for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease) Primary Lateral Sclerosis or PLS. Both are neurodegenerative disorders that will eventually paralyze the body but leaves the mind intact. People with PLS live longer than people with ALS. Here's a link that explains the differences.

I was diagnosed with PLS just about 10 years ago. It started with slurring of my speech and has progressed to no longer being able to walk or talk. I may not be able to walk, but I can ride a trike. I’ve started training to ride a total of 60 miles in 2 days and raising $15,000. I am asking for your help to reach my fundraising goal.

I’ll do the hard part and ride 60 miles if you do the easy part and help me reach my fundraising goal. You can easily donate online by visiting my fundraising page at https://tst.als.net/thomas-toupence. Every dollar counts and any amount helps.
