The weekend of June 21-22nd, my friends and I will be riding in the ALS TDI Tri State Trek bike ride. As you might have figured out from our name "Antiques Roadshow for ALS," we will be riding the 30 miles a day route, not the 100 mile a day route! We will riding for...Pat, Tim, Nell, Jim, and Fred...and so many, too many, of our friends who are living with ALS or who have passed from ALS. The Antiques Roadshow for ALS will be stopping at every rest stop along the way, enjoying the snacks, catching our breath, and chatting with our fellow riders....all the while remembering why we are there, and raising money for ALS TDI to find a treatment or 20.While we won’t be able to share the snack with you, we hope you can help us with a donation…ALS is not incurable, it’s just underfunded. Every dollar will help, and every dollar will go directly to the ALS TDI lab to help find a treatment and a cure.While it seem hard to believe, it’s been 12 years since Pat passed away from his ALS. This will be my 4th year participating in the ALS TDI Tri-State Trek in late June. While I am not a "rider," I spend my time volunteering doing whatever I can to help make this wonderful weekend of love and community as successful as possible. As shown in the photo, I even spent time as a human construction cone last year warning riders of slick roads ahead! Together, we hope to raise over $500,000 for research and drug development to continue working toward an end to this horrible, 100% fatal disease. I am pledging $5,000 from the Jim Heller fund and would love if my friends and family can contribute as well. Thank you so much in advance for considering! 

I’m taking a different route during my fifth Trek this year. Instead of passing out treats as a crew member at one of the rest stops, I’ll be a rider sampling the PB&J sandwiches, pickle juice, and all the other goodies. I do this in memory of my sister Nell—on the right in the photo—who lived with ALS for eight years before leaving us in 2017. She would love the Trek with all the comraderie (and I know she'd love ringing a cowbell or two). Nell and all the others we ride for, will be there in spirit to power our team the Antiques Roadshow for ALS as we roll along. All of us on the team—advocate besties in the ALS community—have been affected by this hideous disease and want it to END!! We’re doing our part. Would you do yours?
