Hola, hope that you’re surviving the pandemic in good health. For the fourth year, I’m bicycling to raise money for the fight against ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. It’s a terribly debilitating and cruel disease with no known cure. That’s why the work of ALS Therapy Development Institute in Cambridge, MA, is so important. ALS-TDI is leading research into finding a treatment and cure for ALS.
Unfortunately, Covid-19 has reduced the ability of ALS-TDI to raise money this year. The annual ALS-TDI Tri-State Trek, a 270-mile ride over three days from Boston to Greenwich, CT, has been cancelled for the safety of the riders. Instead, we’ll be riding in our own fashion through the ``My-State Trek.’’ Everyone will design their own rides by June 21. I plan to complete the mileage in three or four days. The inspiring group that I rode with for the past three years, Team Bannon-Crush ALS, has raised more than $1 million over the past decade. Many members of the team have had loved ones affected by the disease.
Will you consider donating money to support the fight against ALS? I know this has been a hard time for so many people. If this isn’t a good time for you to give money, please don’t worry. But if you can give, everyone on Team Bannon and at ALS-TDI would be extremely grateful. Thanks for your consideration. -David
