The Uphill Club...Giddy Up!

Many of you visiting this page are already familiar with the Tri-State Trek and it's focus on ending ALS.

ALS, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, aka Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that leads to paralysis, due to the death of motor neurons in the spinal cord and brain.

There is currently no known cause, cure, or effective treatment for the disease.

Many of us participate every year in honor of loved ones that have passed.

The Trek is not just a ride to raise money, it’s a fight for the friends & families we have met along the way. It’s a show of support for the victims of this horrible disease…and for our Captain, Andy Rubenstein, and his Family, it's a personal tribute to his father that he is still an influence in their hearts.

The Team Name, 'Follow Me' on the surface is a private acknowledgment to Andy's Father.

...

The nickname was bestowed upon him by friends because of his nature of always wanting to lead the group.

However, it is more than just a tribute. It’s about the life philosophy of do as I do. Do, not because anybody is watching, but because you know it makes a difference. Set the example, be something others aspire too. It’s about the support and encouragement you can offer at the very moment it presents itself. It is about the unselfish extension of you, to help others…Follow Me…

We consider ALS-TDI and its supporters an extension of our family, and we will go whatever distance necessary to help this cause.

Thank you for Your Support.

Supporting Our Riders!!!
I am very proud and honored to represent Team Follow Me in our 22nd year supporting the Tri-State Trek for ALS-TDI.I will crew as Route Supports Mobile Rest-Stop (Phoenix Squad) for the Trek cyclists as they travel through New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine this year. This event is very personal to us and how we choose to fight back every year.ALS is a horrible disease and we have seen it's immediate impact on Family & Friends...and we need your help to stop it.Your donations not only fund ALS clinical research, but they offer hope, to the families and PALS that face this disease every day, that we are moving one step closer to a treatment/solution.Thank You in Advance for Your Kindness & Generosity.~Tom

Riding for those who no longer can.
Twenty-Two years ago, we received the news that my uncle was diagnosed with ALS. This summer will be my 21st year riding in his memory. (That will  be over 4,000 miles!!!).This has always been the most incredible ride I've ever done--it is physically the hardest, but it is also the most camaraderie forming, optimistic, and full of hope and support.I choose ALS-TDI because they are working towards finding an effective treatment for ALS and hope that someday soon, I will not have to make this trek when they are finally successful in finding a cure! You can support my efforts by riding with me or making a contribution to our Team at ALS-TDI.Thank you.Peace, Happiness, and Love...Mari
