Riding for those heroes living with ALS every day
In June Team Goodfolk's Movement will once again be hitting the pavement to grind out another 270 mile bike ride. The ride begins in Boston, Massachusets, and ends in Greenwich, CT. Although the team may be composed of different Goodfolks this year, the cause is still the same. We won't stop until a cure has been found for ALS aka Lou Gherig's Disease.
Amytrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a delibitating disesease that as of today, has no cure. We are riding for two reasons: One.) To raise awareness for the disease. Most of us know Lou Gherig, Stephen Hawking, and our hometown hero, Steve Gleason are living with ALS. But there are countless of other brave heroes out there that are struggling and need our help as well. Two.) We are riding to raise funding for ALS research, so that we can continue to develop suitable treatments that work and ultimately find a cure.
The ALS Therapy Development Institue located in Cambridge, MA, (which is where your donations go), has been at the forefront of developing therapies and medicines that have slowed down the effects of ALS. Each and every day the scientists and support staff are working hard and getting closer and closer to a cure.
Please join the Goodfolks Movement by donating to our cause and helping us blow our fundraising goal out of the water! It's also not to late to join our team if you'd like to get in on the fun!
