Striking adults between 18 and 80, about 7,000 US families are hit with an ALS diagnosis each year - the incidence is similar to Multiple Sclerosis. However,
because a person will typically survive only two-to-five years past diagnosis, there are only about 30,000 US citizens with ALS at any given time. The
result is a significant lack of awareness and funding for research.
The Problem as we see it is simple: Dollars to science. The more dollars we can send to our research team the more
likely we are to find our effective therapy. Nothing ensures that fundraising dollars go to research like Corporate
Sponsors and Media attention.
Corporate Teams
Start a company team and field a group of riders to show off your organization's commitment to community
involvement, charitable giving and an active lifestyle. The research team at ALS TDI is working around the
clock to find an effective therapy for ALS, and Your Team can help!
Corporate Sponsors
Corporate Sponsorship offsets event spending, and allows rider fundraising to go to research. Thanks to the
help of some very generous organizations, 86 cents out of every dollar of rider fundraising is returned to research at ALS TDI.
For information on becoming an event corporate sponsor please contact Dave Virden at 617-441-7240 or by email at dvirden@als.net
Finish Line Sponsorship
Honoring Greenwich Police Sgt. Roger Petrone, and the roughly one hundred thousand others who are diagnosed
with ALS each year, we cycle through Greenwich, CT (the last seven miles of the Trek) together, as one
group. At 2:20pm, on Sunday, July 21st, cyclists of the Eleventh Annual Tri-State Trek will descend on Greenwich
Ave to the cheers of family, friends, and spectators.
Media
Local and regional media outlets that cover the ride help spread critical awareness, and bring our story full
circle. We send press releases to all town papers on our route, and public service announcements to 250 radio
stations in the northeast!
